texmarie asked: Hi! I'm in the process of applying to graduate school for the fall, and I wanted to thank you for your list of programs! It is the most comprehensive I've been able to find, and it greatly widened my pool of possibilities. At the risk of asking something that's been asked a hundred times before, which university do you attend, how did you find the admissions process, and are there any programs you'd warn against?

No problem!

I’m actually only an undergraduate student in Museum Studies at Arizona State University. It’s a B.A. program that’s highly similar to the Art History B.A. here but with different requirements of Juniors & Seniors. (Basically we have to take internships, professional class credits, and have a wider selection of Upper Division credits that include Non-profit management, accounting, Travel/Tourism, and so on that the Art History students don’t have to take.)

Since I’m not in a Master’s program for Museum Studies at the moment, I can’t really speak from experience as to whether or not any programs are particularly bad or ones you should avoid. I’d stick to programs that require hands on experience, but other than that I don’t know what you’re looking for specifically, though many of the Museos in the directory are current Grad students.

Hope that helped, and if anyone had any advice, feel free to step in!
